There are a number of heating, ventilation and air conditioner companies that produce dual fuel systems and today we’ll briefly look at a few of those and how their various product lines measure up.

NuTone’s main contribution to the packaged dual fuel market is their iHybrid system. They sell these units in a variety of tonnages and typically the air-source heat pump average 14 SEER while the gas furnaces gets 80% AFUE. A 10 Year Warranty is typical and components are basic HVAC standards. Most of their models also feature a Copeland Ultra-Tech Compressor which is a solid choice as far as heat pump compressors go.

Bryant Heating and Cooling Systems offers packaged dual fuel as part of its products, which is no surprise since there are few kinds of HVAC products that Bryant does not manufacture. Bryant separates their dual fuel offerings between their Legacy and Preferred lines. Most of the Legacy models average 13 SEER and 7.7 HSPF. Preferred series usually get 14 SEER and 8.0 HSPF. Both feature typical Bryant warranties and use similar parts.

Rheem Manufacturing also makes dual fuel systems. Their units average around 14 SEER and 8.0 HSPF. They also use a Copeland Scroll compressor and cover it with a 10 Year Limited Warranty. Rheem also includes limited and conditional warranties on the parts.
